It is a small but important organ, this prostate gland, which produces hormones and encircles the urethra on the upper part. It’s critical for good sexual working and also to having regular control of your bladder.

The most common problem affecting the prostate has found to be inflammation, of the prostate which is otherwise known as prostatitis. This brings trouble to urinate and in the most acute of cases may be extremely unlikely.

As most men get older, it has been found that proteinaceous material which is found to be calcified can build up in the prostate gland around the area of the channel. Prostate cancer is particularly difficult to diagnose but is definitely one of the most threatening to the individual.

Examination of the prostrate gland is relatively simple and can be carried out in your doctor’s office. It must be stressed that the importance of prostate exams increases as one ages also.
